Arusha, Tanzania | His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of the Qatar Football Association, attended the 44th Confederation of African Football (CAF) Congress, which was held on Wednesday, in the city of Arusha in Tanzania. This was in response to the official invitation from CAF President Patrice Motsepe
FIFA President Gianni Infantino also attended the CAF Congress, which was an opportunity to meet and engage with various footballing figures, discussing matters of common interest, especially Qatar's upcoming hosting of the 2022 World Cup.
His Excellency the QFA President also met with His Excellency Mr. Kassim Majaliwa, Prime Minister of Tanzania, on the sidelines of the CAF Congress meetings. They had a conversation on sports and football, and their role in uniting people, and bringing together different civilizations. Other football related issues were also discussed, in addition to topics of common interest between the two countries.
At the end of the meeting, the two sides exchanged souvenirs, with the QFA President presenting our national team jersey carrying the number 22 to the Tanzanian Prime Minister.
