DOHA: Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of the Qatar Football Association (QFA), chaired the first meeting of the Local Organizing Committee for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup, which was held Wednesday afternoon at the QFA headquarters in Al Bidda Tower.
The meeting was attended by Jassim bin Rashid Al-Buainain, Vice President, and members of the committee, Ahmed Abdulaziz Al-Buainain, Ibrahim Khalil Al-Muhannadi, Hani Talib Ballan, Mansoor Muhammad Al Ansari - General Manager and Managing Director of the tournament, and Jassim Abdulaziz Al Jassim CEO of the 2023 Asian Cup.
Attendees discussed each item on the agenda related to the present state of tournament planning and the most crucial stages remaining before Qatar hosts the most important continental championship for national teams in January 2024.
During the meeting, they discussed all of matters that are associated with hosting the tournament, such as stadiums, hotels, marketing and media issues, as well as all of the issues that are associated with the tournament in terms of logistics and all tournament operations, with the goal of organizing a successful tournament for the Asian Cup finals.
