Doha - Qatar | His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of the Qatar Football Association (QFA), hosted a dinner in honour of the delegation of the Yemeni U15 national team, on the sidelines of the team's visit to Qatar to attend the final of the FIFA Arab Cup between Algeria and Tunisia, at Al Bayt Stadium, at the invitation of the QFA.
The dinner was organised by H. E. the QFA President, to celebrate the Yemeni national team and their impressive achievement in winning the eighth West Asian U15 Boys' Championship. Yemen won 4-3 on penalties, after the end of normal time, which ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
The Qatari and Yemeni FAs have had close relations and fruitful cooperation over many years. The two parties signed a cooperation agreement, and bilateral relations have witnessed many aspects of constructive cooperation, including support for Yemeni sports teams and clubs, the establishment of training camps in Doha and hosting matches of Yemeni teams.
The QFA's honouring of the Yemeni U15 team is to serve as an incentive and motivation for them to continue at this level of high performance and enthusiasm, that they showed throughout the tournament.
