QFA President meets Australian ambassador

DOHA: The President of Qatar Football Association (QFA) Sheikh Hamad
bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Thani met here on Monday with HE Australian
Ambassador to Qatar, Pablo Kang and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting they discussed strengthening of sports relations
between the two sides in addition to matters relating to the friendly
match between Qatar's first national football team with its
Australian counterpart in Doha on October 14 in addition to the
participation of Qatar's national team in next year's AFC Asian Cup
2015 that would be hosted by Australia.

The meeting also focused on issues of mutual interest and ways of
activating them and working to strengthen the bonds of friendship to
serve football in Qatar and Australia.

For his part, Kang praised the role of Qatar on sports level, noting
that Doha has become one of the most important sports cities in the
global arena which confirms Qatar's ability to organize a wonderful
edition of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar.
