DOHA: Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of the Qatar Football Association (QFA), received on Sunday HE Marjan Kamstra, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Qatar.
Saud Al-Muhannadi, Vice President of QFA, and Mansour Al-Ansari, Secretary-General of QFA, were also present during the meeting that took place at Al Bidda Tower.
The QFA President received the Ambassador with hopes of strengthening relations between the two sides.
The visiting Ambassador praised the important role of the State of Qatar on the sporting front. The Ambassador acknowledged the rising status of Doha as sports hub of the region.
The Ambassador praised the leadership of Qatar on Qatar's journey to hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup, saying the country should be proud to stage the region's first ever World Cup.
During the meeting, the two discussed strengthening means of cooperation between the two sides in various sports fields.
