DOHA: Qatar Football Association (QFA) President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani on Tuesday met with Dr. Issa Hayatou, Chairman of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), and held discussions of mutual interest.
CAF Vice President Almamy Kabele Camara was also present during the meeting held in Sheikh Hamad's office.
FIFA Executive Committee members Hany Abo Rida and Tarek Bouchamaoui were also present alongside Secretary-General of CAF Hicham El Amrani.
The meeting was attended by Saud Al Mohannadi, Vice President of QFA, and Hassan Al Thawadi, the General Secretary of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy.
During the meeting, the participating officials discussed matters of mutual interest and ways to develop the game in the African continent and support CAF in its quest to achieve this feat.
The QFA chief pledged total commitment from Qatar to support the game in Africa.
At the end of the reception, the QFA chief gifted Dr. Hayatou an honorary memento.
