DOHA: The President of the Qatar Football Association (QFA) received the Spanish counterpart and his accompanying delegation on Sunday in his office. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of QFA, welcomed the President of Spanish Football Association, Luis Rubiales, Andrew Camps, the Secretary-General, and Antonio Gomez, Director of International Relations.The reception was attended by Ivan Bravo, Director General of the Aspire Academy.The meeting has come within the framework of the two parties aiming to develop the sport in the two countries and worldwide. QFA continues to improve relations with world football bodies as it seeks to strengthen ties through sports in general and football in particular. The latest visit by the Spanish football delegation is a fresh start for the relations between QFA and other friendly federations. The officials on Sunday discussed topics of common interest between the two federations, the importance of activating them and ways to develop them in the coming period.The two parties also discussed the possibility of signing a Memorandum of Understanding in the coming period to kick start bilateral projects like arranging training camps and other football activities on the ground. Next year, the Spanish delegation also invited Qatar's junior squad to feature in the popular C.o.t.i.f Championship in Valencia.At the end of the meeting, shields were exchanged between the two federations.QFA President presented three jerseys of the first national team to the visiting delegate and his accompanying team bearing their names and the number 22 in reference to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
