Doha: On Wednesday, His Excellency Mr. Jassim bin Rashid Al-Buainain, President of the QFA, welcomed Mr. Mehdi Taj, President of the Football Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran (FFIRI), and his accompanying delegation at the QFA offices in Al Bidda Tower.
Mr. Mansoor Al-Ansari, Secretary-General of the Qatar Football Association, was also present at the meeting, which touched on many common issues of interest to both parties, including strengthening cooperation frameworks between the two sides and the importance of activating them in the coming period in a manner that serves football and provides ways to improve the game in each of the two countries, especially since the two federations have had strong contacts for years and are linked by a collaboration agreement signed a while ago that supports the football systems in Qatar and Iran.
Plans for collaboration were also discussed, focusing on sharing knowledge and expertise on a wide range of topics relating to football to improve the sport in both nations.
