DOHA: Qatar Football Association (QFA) president on Sunday received a message
from FIFA President Sepp Blatter on Lekhwiya's QSL title win last
week.
Lekhwiya last Sunday beat Al Ahli 3-1 in a round 25 clash to seal
their fourth QSL title win in five years.
In his note addressed to QFA President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin
Ahmed Al Thani, Blatter praised QFA for the way the league was staged
in the 2014-15 season and how the game got to reach new audiences in
Qatar.
Blatter also praised QFA for its initiatives to promote sports among
schoolchildren, saying a sport like football helped young kids build
character.
The FIFA chief applauded the performances of Lekhwiya, saying the club
put on a remarkable show of attacking football.
QFA President also addresseda letter to HE Sheikh Abdullah
bin Nasser Al Thani, Chairman of the Board of Directors Lakhwiya.
Blatter, who became FIFA President in 1998, wished Lekhwiya further
success in football.
QFApresident has reciprocated the letter by thanking FIFA President,
saying Blatter has taken the game of football forward ever since
becoming the governing body's president.
