DOHA: Saud bin Abdulaziz Al-Mohannadi, Vice-President of Qatar Football Association (QFA), on Tuesday received in his office Colonel Zakaria Kanat, Vice-President of the Syrian Football Association (SFA).
Radwan Al-Sheikh, Advisor to the President of SFA, was also present.
The visit comes after the QFA hosted a camp to help the Syrian national team prepare for their participation in the final qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup, which lasted from August 21 to 29.
During the meeting, the officials discussed issues of common interest and ways to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood between the two brotherly federations.
Mr Al-Mohannadi underlined the depth of the relations between the QFA and its Syrian counterpart, pointing out the role of football in strengthening relations between the football-loving nations.
The visiting delegation appreciated QFA's role in developing football in the region and the Asian continent.
He also thanked QFA President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani and Mr. Al Muhannadi for the reception on Tuesday.
"The Syrian football squad enjoyed their stay in Qatar and I was told the hospitality was wonderful," Colonel Zakaria Kanat said.
