DOHA: Despite a narrow 3-2 scoreline, Diego Agguire led Al Gharafa put on a dominant showcase against Al Khuraitiyat in the third round of the HH Emir Cup to force their way into the quarterfinal round, while while Al Khor knocked out Umm Salal following a 1-0 victory to advance.

Al Gharafa raced into a quick first half lead courtesy of a rare Meshal Mubarak goal, the left back pierced through the left flank before firing from an acute angle past keeper Kalifa Bubacker, this lead was cancelled out by Yahya Kebe who leveled the score for Al Khuraitiyat on 43 minutes.
In the second half, Venezuelan Miku and Brazilian Nene scored two more goals for Al Gharafa, helping to alleviate pressure from team-mate George Kwesi who scored an own goal after a six-yard box blunder between him and keeper Qassim Buran.
In another third round tie, Al Ahli overcame a two-goal deficit to Qatar SC and advance to the quarterfinal of the Emir Cup 6-5 on penalty kicks Wednesday at theGrand Hamad Stadium.
Al Ahli outlasted their opponents in the tie-breaker after they played to a 2-2 draw through 90 minutes of regulation time, Meshal Abdullah and Alain Dioko scored for te winners, while Dabenka (o.g) and Douglas scored for Qatar SC.

The winning teams Al Ahli, Al Arabi , Al Khor and Gharafa will join Al Sadd, Lekhwiya, El Jaish and Al Sailiya in the quarterfinal.
The quarter-finals of the tournament will be on May 3.
The semi-finals matches will be on May 10 at Al Sadd Stadium.
The final of the tournament, which brings to close the football season in Qatar, will take place on May 17 at Khalifa Stadium.
