Doha: Three goals in the first half earned Qatar U-23 team a 3-1 win over Kuwait in the opening day match of the four-nation u-23 friendly tournament currently taking place at Aspire Academy.   Eid Rashiedi broke the deadlock for Kuwait just Eight minutes into the match, but the hosts responded swiftly with three goals through Khalid Mazeed (20), Hassan Ahmed (21) and Amro Siraj (26).   Earlier in the day, Tajikistan defeated Iran 2-1.   Qatar will next play Tajikistan in the second round of the tournament.   Qatar will take on Oman, Nepal and Afghanistan in the qualifying group for the AFC U23 Championship on March 22-26, 2019.   11 group winners and four best second-placed teams will qualify for the Finals, with the host nation of the Finals receiving automatic qualification.
