With victories over Korea Republic (2-0) and Myanmar (6-0) under their belt, Qatar, who already secured a place in the 2024 AFC U-23 Asian Cup as hosts, entered their last group match at the Changwon Football Center with an air of confidence.
For Kyrgyz Republic, the match was a chance to end their campaign with a win after a 1-1 draw with Myanmar and 1-0 defeat to Korea Republic had dashed their qualification hopes.
