DOHA: Hani Ballan, member of the Executive Committee of the Qatar Football Association (QFA) and CEO of Qatar Stars League, crowned Umm Salal champions of the Reserve League.
This is Umm Salal's first club title in their history.
Ballan handed the league shield and gold medals to the captain and players of victorious Umm Salal.
The prize distribution ceremony was held after the end of Umm Salal's match against Qatar SC, which ended in a 1-1 draw at Thani Bin Jassem Stadium.
Abdullah Sheikh scored for Umm Salal while Khaled Walid scored the goal was for Qatar SC.
Umm Salal finished with an overall tally of 28 points. They finished one point ahead of Al Wakrah.
With a 1-1 draw against Al Shamal and Al Arabi meeting, Al Shamal finished with 26 points.
In other matches, Al Ahli beat Al-Khor 1-0, Al Sadd downed Al Gharafa 3-1 while the Al Rayyan-Al-Duhail clash ended in a goalless draw.
