DOHA: The activities of a workshop for trainers, organized by the Qatar Football Association (QFA) in cooperation with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), concluded on Monday at the headquarters of the Development Department of the QFA.
The workshop lasted from March 1-21 at the headquarters of the administration in Aspire.
The closing ceremony was attended by Mr. Fahd Thani Al-Zaraa, Director of the Development Department of the QFA - Assistant Lecturer for the course - and Ahmed Omar Shaker, the accredited lecturer at the AFC, the main lecturer of the course, who supervised the presentation of the theoretical and practical topics of the course, and the accredited lecturer at the AFC - Assistant Lecturer at the course - Abdul Al-Qader Al-Mughisib.
The training course for lecturers is one of the most important courses organized by the Development Department under the supervision of AFC. Similar courses have already been organized, the most recent of which was held in March 2020.
Twenty students, representing an elite group of coaches, analysts and workers in the football sector, participated in the course. The most prominent of them was Miguel Heitor, Director of Development at the Qatar Stars League, Hakeem Al-Saba’, an analyst at Al-Kass and BN Sports channels, Mohamed Abdel-Wahhab, goalkeeper coach at Al-Sadd Sports Club, and the promising and upcoming lecturer with the power of Rashid. Hassan Al-Kubaisi.
Fahd Thani presented some souvenirs to the lecturers of the course, Ahmed Omar and Abdul Qader Al-Mughisib, and the guests of the closing ceremony, and then everyone participated in their turn in distributing participation certificates to the participants in the course.
These courses are considered among the most important pillars on which the education and development strategy developed by the Development Department of QFA headed by Fahd Thani Al-Zaraa, who underline the continuous support of the QFA headed by President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani.
Fahd Thani said: “The organization of these courses comes as part of the strategy to develop new trainers’ lecturers and enhance the capabilities of current lecturers in Qatar, and to ensure the continuity of organizing courses through lecturers, as the demand for trainers’ courses of various categories and levels is constantly increasing.”
Al-Zaraa concluded his speech by saying: “The administration always aims to upgrade coaches and lecturers and refine them in accordance with the latest training systems in football, not only in Qatar, but also worldwide. Coaches and lecturers from different countries of the world, not only Arab countries, and from different nationalities.”
The Director of the Development Department thanked and appreciated Ahmed Omar, who spared no effort in providing all that was new to the participants, and Abdul Qadir Al-Mughisib, who enriched the lectures with his accumulated experiences.
The trainers’ lecturer course included many topics, which included theoretical and practical sessions. There were lectures on the playing system, tactical differences, different playing methods, offensive playing methods, defensive play, technical management, team building, modern football trends, employing football players, coach responsibilities and other related lectures. and practical applications thereof.
