RIYADH: Qatar's crushing 3-1 win over Oman couldn't have come at a
better time, team manager Fareed Mahboob said on Sunday.
Prior to the semifinal on Sunday, Qatar braved through three tough
draws to reach the knockout stage of the Gulf Cup.
"We produced a good performance just when we needed it. The win came
at the right time," the manager said.
"We had to delight our fans, and indeed we did," he added.
"We were under pressure before the game. Some said we had an easy ride
but that was not the case. We played tough games and that prepared
us," he added.
"We exploited the opportunities well and won," he said.
