RIYADH: FIFA President Sepp Blatter on Thursday said Qatar will host
the 2022 World Cup after the Ethics Committee of the governing body
dismissed allegations of corruption in the bid process.
Blatter's remarks came in his speech on day one of the 22nd Gulf Cup.
The FIFA President was accompanied by a large number of football
officials attending the two-week tournament that kicked off on
Thursday.
Blatter said he is making his final announcement on the World Cup 2022
and that it will be hosted by Qatar. He said there was no room any
further rumours.
Blatter said the world is looking forward to its first World Cup in
the Middle East.
