Kuala Lumpur: Participants of recently concluded FIFA FUTURO III refereeing instructors’ courses have been urged to take their new knowledge and experience to develop referees further in their home countries. The six-day courses for the first group of Referee Technical Instructors and Referee Fitness Instructors were held in the Malaysian capital city and attended by 18 and nine participants respectively. “We’d like to thank FIFA for providing us with this great opportunity for our instructors to learn new teaching methodology,” said AFC Referees Committee Deputy Chairman Hany Taleb B.S. Safar during the courses’ closing ceremony. “We hope all of you would bring all the new knowledge back to your country and and share all that you have gained from this valuable course.” Manuel Navarro, FIFA Deputy Director of Referees, said: “I am happy and appreciate your excellent commitment in the class and on the field the past six days. You are here because you are among the best in your country. “Spread the message that you gained here and work with your Member Association referees. Share your knowledge and teaching material with your instructors. Now the ball is your court. You are responsible for your referees’ development.” The Referee Fitness Instructors’ Course was delivered by Ahmad Khalidi Supian (Malaysia) and Zhang Lingling (China) while Esse Baharmast (USA) and John Chia (Singapore) were the trainers for the Referee Instructors’ Course.
