AFC President reiterates support for Qatar's World Cup organizing team

DOHA: Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa renewed his full confidence on Qatar capability to organize the 2022 FIFA World Cup finals in accordance with the highest international standards of regulation, stressing that the whole Asian family stands alongside Qatar in its efforts towards better organization of the World Cup championship in the history of world football. This came during his attendance to activities which were organized today by the Qatar's World Cup 2022 Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy organizing Committee so as to highlight the latest developments towards preparations related to hosting the expected global event. AFC President expressed his satisfaction over escalation pace of work in infrastructure projects and establishment of football pitches for hosting the 2022 World Cup, noting that it reflect sound planning which was adopted by Qatar since it offered its bid to host the tournament and until the present time. He praised efforts and role of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy in pushing forward preparations to organize the World Cup, pointing out that the professionalism that characterizes work of the commission represents a fertile ground for the completion of all arrangements for hosting the event.
