DOHA: Al Sadd came from two goals down to defeat Al Sailiya 3-2 and
move to second on the Qatar Stars League table.
Hassan Al Haidous (45th), Baghdad Bounedjgah (49th) and Morteza
Pouraliganji (70th) scored for the winners after Faouzi Ayesh twice
converted from the spot (28th, 44th) to give Sailiya a surprise two-goal
cushion.
Al Sadd are now in second spot with 45 points. Al Rayyan, the QSl
champions, have 61 points from 24 matches. Third-placed El Jaish
have 44 points from 24 matches.
Lekhwiya, placed fourth, have 41 points from 24 games.
Meanwhile, Umm Salal clang on to their faint top-four hopes by
defeating Al Arabi 1-0, with Moroccan forward Mounir Hamdaoui
scoring the all-important goal in the 32nd minute.
Elsewhere, Mouhcine Iajour (33rd) and Meshaal Abdullah (52nd) found
the back of the net as Al Ahli defeated relegation-confirmed Mesaimeer
2-0.
