Hassan Al Haidous (45th), Baghdad Bounedjgah (49th) and Morteza Pouraliganji (70th) scored for the winners after Faouzi Ayesh twice converted from the spot (28th, 44th) to give Sailiya a surprise two-goal cushion. Al Sadd are now in second spot with 45 points. Al Rayyan, the QSl champions, have 61 points from 24 matches. Third-placed El Jaish have 44 points from 24 matches. Lekhwiya, placed fourth, have 41 points from 24 games. Meanwhile, Umm Salal clang on to their faint top-four hopes by defeating Al Arabi 1-0, with Moroccan forward Mounir Hamdaoui scoring the all-important goal in the 32nd minute. Elsewhere, Mouhcine Iajour (33rd) and Meshaal Abdullah (52nd) found the back of the net as Al Ahli defeated relegation-confirmed Mesaimeer 2-0.
