DOHA: Al Ahli shocked recently-crowned champions Al Rayyan 3-2 in the final match of this season’sQatar Stars League at the Al Arabi Stadium on Saturday.
Rodrigo Tabata put Rayyan ahead in the 41st minute whileMeshal Abdullah equalised a minute later.
Firmino Mubele made it 2-1 for Ahli in the 55th minute while Sergio Garcia drew parity in the 61st.
Mubele found his second in the 73rd and it turned out to be the winner asAhli finished sixth in the table.
Meanwhile, Al Sailiya defeated Al Arabi 2-1.
Abdullah Hamad put Sailiya ahead as early as the eighth minute while Yousef Ahmed equalised in the 17th.
Majdi Siddiq restored Sailiya’s lead eight minutes later.
Sailiya finished seventh while Gianfranco Zola’s Arabi ended eighth.
