KUALA LUMPUR: Mansoor Al Ansari, Secretary General of QFA, on Tuesday
attended the proceedings on the opening day of the first Asian
Football Confederation (AFC) Member Associations’ (MA) General
Secretaries’ Conference that has began in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
AFC General Secretary Dato’ Windsor John opened the three-day event
which also includes an induction programme for newly-appointed MA
General Secretaries later in the week.
Dato’ Windsor said: “This landmark event is another example of the
AFC’s commitment, in its Vision and Mission, to support the
development of the Member Associations. It is an ideal opportunity for
the exchange of ideas, best practice and views which will all help
make our MAs stronger.
“Our Vision of being a world leading Confederation, while supporting
our teams to perform at the highest level on the world stage and
continuing to ensure that football is the leading sport in Asia is an
ambitious one.
“And it is one that can only be delivered with the support of the MAs,
who provide the backbone for the AFC. By bringing all the General
Secretaries to Kuala Lumpur we have created an environment where they
can understand and support the objectives of football in Asia.”
Also joining the conference in the next few days will be the FIFA
