DOHA: Costa Rican winger Christian Bolaños will soon be unveiled as
Al Gharafa's new overseas player, it was announced on Wednesday.
Bolaños will Replace Brazilian Nene, who parted ways with the club earlier
this week.
Last summer, The 30 year-old was celebrated as a national hero after leading
Costa Rica to become the 2014 World Cup dark horses and reach the
quarter-finals.
He made his debut for the senior national team in a May 2005 friendly match
against Norway and has, as of January 2014, collected a total of 53 caps, scoring
2 goals. He has represented his country in 25 FIFA World Cup qualification matches
and played at both the 2006 FIFA World Cup and the 2014 FIFA World Cup as well
as at the 2005, 2007 and 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cups.
Al Gharafa will take on leaders Lekhwiya in their next Qatar Stars League on February 6.
