DOHA: Second Division side Al Markhiya have been crowned
Qatargas League champions following a comprehensive 6-1
victory over Al Gharafa at Thani bin Jassim Stadium.
It is the second time that Al Markhiya will feature in the QSL
since 2002.
With an unbeatable tally of 49 points from 17 matches, Al
Markhiya have ensured they will be playing the QSL fixtures
next season.
Al Markhiya remained unbeaten in the Qatargas League
games this season.
Second-placed Qatar SC have 45 points from 17 matches.
In another match, Al Khuraitiyat lost to Lekhwiya 1-4 at Grand
Hamad Stadium.
In another commanding show, Al Rayyan beat El Jaish 3-2. Both
teams were locked at 2-2 in the first half.
Meanwhile, Al Ahli edged Al Arabai 1-0.
