DOHA: In a rare disciplinary action taken by the Qatar Football
Association (QFA), giants Al Rayyan have been fined an astronomical
figure of QR 100,000, details showed on Sunday.
The fined - announced by QFA's Disciplinary Committee - was taken by
Hassan Al Hammadi after a meeting on Sunday.
Poorfan behaviour was the root-cause of the hefty fine, QFA said. Al
Rayyan fans were found to have been unruly during their team's match
against Lekhwiya on April 24.
Al Rayyan have been explicitly warned of allowing such behaviour at
future football games in Qatar.
Al Rayyan won the Qatar Stars League (QSL) title in early March.
