DOHA: Umm Salal came from a goal behind to defeat an in-form Al Ahli 3-1 in a thrilling game in the 18th round of the Qatar Stars League.
Ahli, who were impressive in the first half, deservedly took the lead through captain Meshaal Abdullah in the 26th.
However, young forward Abdulaziz Al Yahiri, who came on as a second-half substitute, won a penalty and gave way for Victor Simeos to convert it in the 76th.
Al Yahiri put Umm Salal in front in the 87th while Mahir Yousef sealed Ahli’s fate in the 91st.
The victory took Umm Salal to eighth while Ahli slipped to fourth.
Al Sadd climbed back to third after they scraped past Qatar Sports Club 1-0.
Qatar international Hassan Al Haidous scored the lone goal from virtually their only chance in the 89th.
In the day’s other game, Al Kharaitiyat and Al Sailiya played out a goalless draw.
