DOHA: After a hard-fought battle, Al Shahaniya beat Al Markhiya 1-0 to secure promotion to Qatar Stars League (QSL) the top tier of football in the country. Al Shahniya now have become the second side after Muaither to reach QSL. Al Shahaniya recorded their win at Al Wakrah Stadium in what was the 16th round in Qatargas League, the second division of football in Qatar. The only goal of the match was scored by Edward Aciano in the 60th minute. In other games, Muaither beat Al Ahli 2-0 while Al Shamal edged Al Wakrah 2-1. Mahmood Zatara and Ayub Aldras scored the goals for Muaither.
