DOHA: Al Shamal on Monday hammered Al Markhiya 3-1 to reach the second
round of the Emir Cup.
In the opening match of the day on Monday, Muaither crushed Al
Shahaniya 4-1 in a penalty shootout.
Both matches were played at Grand Hamad Stadium.
Ali Fareidunscored in the 10th and 84 minutes while Abu Tahir fired
one home in the 74th minute for Al Shamal.
Daniel Santos converted a penalty in the 90th minute for Al Makrkhiya.
Al Shamal now play Al Wakra in a second-round clash on Saturday.Al
Shamal showed better coordination throughout the clash at Grand Hamad
Stadium.
The final of the tournament will be played on May 20.
