DOHA: Qatar Stars League outfit Al Wakrah have completed the
signing of former Paraguayan international Pablo Zeballos.
Zeballos represented the Paraguay national team from 2008 to
2012, featuring in the 2011 Copa América where Paraguay finished
runners-up. In 2011, he was voted as the Paraguayan Footballer
of the Year.
Zeballos will pair up with Uruguayan Pablo Oliviera in the southern
side attacking front.
'It is a very interesting challenge for me and I am very excited to be
here.' Zeballos said before joining his side for the new Qatar Stars
League season.
‘’I thought it was important to get another a striker. His playing ability
will help us but also his leadership qualities and his ability of how to
win games in splendid style’’. AL Wakrah coach Mauricio Larriera said
about his latest recruit.
'I am delighted that we have secured a player of his stature.'
Having practised his trade in some of South America’s biggest clubs; The
31-year-old striker is a proven goal poacher, he was crowned top scorer
of the Paraguay Premiera Divison on two occasions, in addition to memorable
stints at Mexico’s Cruz Azul, Brazil’s Botafogo, Colombia’s Atletico Nacional
and Ecuador’s Emelec.
