DELHI: The Qatar-based Aspetar – Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital has become an official partner for the 5th AFC Medical Conference New Delhi 2015.
Aspetar fulfilled a similar role for the AFC Medical Conference's previous edition which was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 2011.
An agreement has been signed by Aspetar Director General Dr. Khalifa Al Kuwari, AFC General Secretary Dato’ Alex Soosay and All India Football Federation General Secretary Kushal Das which will pave the way for cooperation between the three parties for the conference in New Delhi.
The 5th AFC Medical Conference is the first-of-its-kind to be held in India and is expected to attract between 800 and 1,000 delegates.
The conference will be held from April 2 - 4, 2015 at the JW Mariott, Aerocity, New Delhi.
Among other commitments under the agreement, Aspetar has agreed to appoint 11 experts to contribute to the scientific programme of the conference as speakers.

Dr. Hakim Chalabi, Assistant Director General for International Medical Affairs and Programmes and Centres of Excellence, and Executive Director of the National Sports Medicine Programme
Dr. Cristiano Eirale, Associate Executive Director of the National Sports Medicine Programme
Prof. Yorck Olaf Schumacher, Sports Medicine Physician
Dr. Pieter D’Hooghe, Orthopaedic Surgeon
Dr. Mathew G. Wilson, Head of Athlete Health and Performance Research
Dr. Sebastien Racinais, Head of Research Operations, Athlete Health and Performance Research Centre
Dr. Liesel Geertsema, Sports Medicine Physician
Dr. Julien Periard, Scientific Researcher
Dr. Stephen Targett, Sports Medicine Physician
Andrea Mosler, Senior Physiotherapist
Nicol van Dyk, Physiotherapist
