DOHA: Qatar assistant coach Yasir Nazmi said on Wednesday
that his side has gained positives at the GCC U23 Championships.
The former Qatar international said: "The players did well despite
the results. They fought well and were good at ball possession."
He added: "I think the boys have done well and we are doing okay
as far as our preparations for the Rio Olympics is concerned. We
have time to keep developing our players."
Nazmi said the players were looking forward to their training camps
in the coming weeks.
Qatar were placed in Group B alongside Kuwait and UAE, while
Group A consisted of Saudi Arabia, Oman and Bahrain.
The Gulf Under-23 Championship is currently being held in
Bahrain from January 16 to 26.
