DOHA: Al Arabi beat Al Sadd 5-3 while Al Kharaitiyat outclassed Al
Sailiyah 5-2 on the opening day of the Club Beach Soccer Championship.
Playing with flair, the teams exhibited classy performances as they
regaled fans at the Al Gharafa Stadium's sandy surface.
Al Shamal beat Qatar SC 5-2 while Al Khor crushed Al Rayyan 4-2 while
Al Kharaitiyat stunned Al Shahaniya 7-1.
In another clash, Al Khor edged Umm Salal 7-6 while Al Shahaniya beat
Al Ahli 5-3.
Among the winners were Al Arabi who beat Al Gharafa 7-4 while Al
Shamal hammered Al Wakrah 5-0.
A total of 12 teams are featuring in the event after being divided in
four groups.
Al Kharaitiyat, Al Sailiyah and Al Shahaniya are in Group A while Al
Khor, Umm Salal and Al Rayyan are in Group B.
Al Arabi, Al Gharafa and Al Sadd are in Group C while Al Shamal, Al
Wakra and Qatar are in Group D.
Al Kharaitiyat are top of the points table with six points followed by
Al Sailiyah, Al Shahaniya and Al Ahli.
The preliminary round matches will continue on Thursday with Qatar SC
facing Al Wakra while Umm Salal taken on Al Rayyan. In another clash,
Al Kharaitiyat face Al Ahli.
The games start at 5:15pm.
