Belmadi scouting Qatari talents in Belgium

Eupen, Belgium: Qatar national team coach Djamal Belmadi has completed an extensive but fruitful scouting visit in Belgium. Belmadi was accompanied by Qatar goalkeeping coach Aziz Bouras and Naional teams’ camps and competitions manager Ahmed Al Abbasi as the three-member delegation scouted for future prospects among a young group of Qatari players appearing in Belgian league football. A six-member Under-20 Qatar batch is appearing in ‎ the second division league in Belgium with the Aspire owned club K.A.S Eupen. Qatar is actively pursuing to scout for young talent that could serve the national side as Maroons prepare for 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches. Belmadi and the accompanying delegation watched the Qatari youngsters in action during second division matches in addition to training sessions, QFA said on Sunday. ‎Keeper Yousuf Hassan, Fahad Abdulrahman, Abdulaziz Khalosi, Ahmed Al Saadi, Akram Afif and Ahmed Moen have one by one made their way into the ranks of the club currently occupying third place at the 18-slot table. 2014 U-19 Asian Cup top scorer Ahmed Al Saadi scored the game’s first goal on 33 minutes for Eupen, before they conceded two goals in the second half to suffer a home 1-2 defeat at the hands of WS Woluwe in the 28th round match. Gifted striker Akram Afif also feature in the match. Belmadi and Co also watched Fahad Abulrahman score as Eupen reserves beat Brussels White Star 3-0 in a match that saw Yousuf Hassan and Abdulaziz Khalosi appear in the starting eleven as well. The QFA trio appreciated the admirable hospitality and warmth they were surrounded with during their brief stay, and feel compelled to extend their gratitude to everyone in the family of K.A.S Eupen. Qatar is poised to feature in the 2015 U-20 World Cup in New Zealand next June, a first return to the biennial tournament since hosting it in 1995. IMG-20150308-WA0002
