KUNMING, China: Qatar coach Jorge Fossati on Tuesday said his
team 'braved extreme pressure' during their goalless draw against
China.
Qatar defenders braved a Chinese onslaught to share points in the
2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying match at Tuodong Stadium.
"We had a very tough first half and we couldn't control the ball," Fossati
said on Tuesday.
"The home team put us under a lot of pressure but our defense held
strong and we improved our possession and attack in the second half,"
Fossati said.
"We didn't have a great match today but we gained a point thanks to
our defence," the Qatari coach said.
"This point is important because we have lost three games already.
The first half of the campaign is finished and now we will do our best
in the second," he said.
"If we can win against Uzbekistan, it will be a difference of two points.
We think we have a big chance," he said.
The sixth round will take place on March 23, 2017. Qatar will face Iran
at home.
