DOHA: Qatar coach Daniel Carreno wants his players to up the ante
against China on Match 29 when the two sides clash in a 2018 FIFA
World Cup/ 2019 Asian Cup qualifying clash.
Qatar beat Hong Kong 2-0 in Doha on Thursday to retain their unbeaten
status in Group C, Asian Zone qualifying campaign.
But the veteran Uruguayan coach wants more from his side.
"China must be fought with discipline and a good level of football. It
is important to qualify directly to the next stage of qualifiers,"
Carreno said at the pre-game press conference held at Shaanxi Province
Stadium.
"I will be looking at some (new) players in this clash as we have
important games coming in upcoming months," Carreno said
while talking about international friendlies against Albania and
Austria in a little over two month's time.
“We are aware of the fact that China need to win the match, this means
That we will be on the receiving end of play for extended periods”.
