ZAGREB: Qatar U-19 side lost to their Croatian counterparts on Tuesday in a friendly, details showed. Hosts Croatia won 3-0 after goals from Currentashkee (21), Martinez (88) and Marcot (92). Coached by Oscar Cano, Qatar replaced five players in the second half of the friendly. Qatar are currently training in Croatia ahead of this year's AFC U-19 Asian Cup to be held in Bahrain. "The match provided us with suitable practice as we work on team combinations," a team official said on Tuesday. Nasser Abdulsalam, Syed Hassan, Abdul Rashid Ibrahim, Hammam Al Amin and Abdulrahman Mohamed Fehmy were the players who got valuable practice in the second half. Earlier this year, Qatar squad carried out similar training camps in Morocco and Spain. A busy schedule awaits the Qatar juniors in the months leading up to the AFC U-19 Asian Cup to be held in late September and early October.
