DOHA: Qatar juniors - defending champions of AFC U-19
Championship - are preparing for their training camp in
Croatia, details showed on Thursday.
Coached by Oscar Cano, Qatar are gearing up for the 2016
edition of AFC U-19 Championship to be held in Bahrain
later this year.
Qatar's third training camp will be held in Croatia from April 15
to 23, QFA said on Thursday.
Since the begening of the year 2016, Cano's boys underwent extensive
training camps in Morocco and Spain where the juniors also played
international friendlies.
Once in Croatia, Qatar squad will train twice daily, team officials said on
Thursday.
The national squad and the backroom staff will return to Doha on April 23.
During the forthcoming trip, Qatar will play friendlies against Croatia on the
19th and the 21st of this month.
"We have some exciting players in our squad. We have got some good results in
the last two overseas training camps," a team official said.
"The two friendlies in Croatia are important as we build combinations
for games later in the summer," the official said.
"We are the defending champions at AFC U-19 Championship. We want
to prepare the best way possible," the official said.
Qatar will also travel to Belgium and the Netherland‎s in May and June.
After Ramadan break, Qatar squad will assemble again and head to
Switzerland and Spain for two more training camps.
