DOHA: El Jaish ended their six-match losing streak with a victory over defending champions Al Sadd. Jaish, playing under their new coach Nabil Maloul, of Tunisia, defeated Housseine Amouta’s side 2-1. Two goals in two minutes, from Kembo Ekoko (49th) and Mohammed Muntari (50th) helped the armymen win. Mamadou Niang pulled one back, but Sadd could not score another goal even though Jaish were reduced to 10 men in the 77th. In another game, Al Kharaitiyat defeated Qatar Sports Club 3-1 while Al Ahli blanked lowly-placed Muaither SC 3-0.
