DOHA: Following the success of previous Emir Cups’ Trophy
Tours, school children of Al Wakrah Elementary School for
Girls and Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Model School for Boys
were invited on Sunday to be part of the first stop of the
Emir Cup Trophy Tour.
The Qatar Football Association (QFA) delegation received a
warm welcome from the school children who displayed
different dance performances and shows to express their
enthusiasm for the tournament.

The delegation consisted of Mr. Ali Al Salat, Head of Media, Mr.
Ali Al Nuaimi, Head of Competition, Ms. Noora Al Tammimi,
Head of Social Responsibility, Mr. Abdulrahman Abduljabar,
Social Media Specialist, Mr. Nabil Qayed, Schools Coordinator
and Mr. Hafez Salmeen of Public Relations.
Organizing the Trophy Tour illustrates QFA’s objective to
instill a football culture amongst school students at a young
age.

The students gathered enthusiastically around the famous
trophy to take memorable pictures while wearing their favorite
football team jersey.
The second day of the tour saw the cup visit Abdullah bin
Zaid School and Abdullah bin Turki Al Subaiai School. Qatar
international goalie stole the limelight as kids gravitated towards
the man stands guarding the goal for Al Rayyan, one of Qatar’s
most popular clubs.

Not only will did the students have a chance to hold the
prestigious trophy, they also had the opportunity to take
memorable pictures with it.
The tour also included gift distribution and a briefing session
about the tournament and football in general. The students
were invited to attend the matches and take part in the different
community events which QFA is organizing in the lead up to
the final match. The final match is set to take place on May
19.
The trophy tour is scheduled to make stops at various schools in
Doha in the upcoming days to allow as many schools to take part
in the Emir Cup.
