DOHA: The battle to win a spot in the Qatar Stars League (QSL) roster
next season continues in the Qatargas League where fans witnessed
interesting games in round 12.
In two of the more important clashes, Al Markiya beat Al Khor 5-1
while Mesaimeer crushed Al Shahaniya 5-0 at Al Ahli Stadium.
In another game, Al Shamal battled for a 2-1 win over Lekhwiya.
Meanwhile Qatar Sports Club hammered Al Gharafa 7-0 while Al Sadd
pulverised Umm Salal by the same score card.
Al Sailiyah played a goalless draw against Al Ahli while Al Rayyan
beat Muaither, the defending champions.
Al Wakrah and Al Shamal also posted wins over the weekend, beating Al
Kharaitiyat and Lekhwiya respectively.
Meanwhile, yellow card infringements rose in Qatargas League with a
total of 203 players penalised by the referees officiating the games.
Players like Saleh Alkaaana, Ahmad Noman, Atiq Rumaihi, Abdul Karim,
Atiq, Shami Hassan, Mahdi Pentagram and Abdalhana Numan remain
suspended for the next round games.
In the last round a total of 39 goals were scored with an average of
4.3 per game.
Two games saw 7-0 cards in what were the high-scoring wins for Qatar
Sports Club and Al Sadd.
After round 12, Al Markhiya lead the points table followed by Qatar
Sports Club and Mesaimeer.
Al Shamal are in fourth spot followed by Al Rayyan, Al Wakrah, Al
Khor, Lekhwiya, Al Ahli, Al Sailiyah, Al Kharaitiyat, Al Arabi, Al
Shahaniya, Muaither, Umm Salal, Al Gharafa and Al Ejaish.
