DOHA: Qatar coach said on Tuesday his team had achieved it's first
target at the 2016 AFC U-23 Championship.
Olympic Games berth hopefuls Qatar on Tuesday crushed Syria 4-2 to
reach the quarterfinals of the three-week event.
"It was an important match and we delivered," Sanchez said after the
win at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.
"It was a big win and now we have achieved our first target," he said.
"We managed to stay strong in the three games and now we are looking
at our next target which is to reach the semi-finals," he said.
"We have been very determined," he said after watching Qatar beat
China 3-1, Iran 2-1 and Syria 4-2 in one week.
"Each group is different. We focus only on our team and not others.
"We have to be ready for the quarterfinals," he said ahead of the
last-eight clash on January 22.
The tournament ends on January 30.
