DOHA: In an incredible performance; striker Baghdad Bounedjah
on Friday produced four stunning goals to lift Al Sadd into the
semifinals of the Emir Cup.
Playing at Lekhwiya Stadium, Bounedjah could barely out a
foot wrong as Al Sadd crushed Al Kharaitiyat 4-1 in the third
quarterfinals.
Bounedjah scored all of his goals in the first half.
He scored the goals in 8th, 36th, 40th and 45 + 4 minutes. His
last goal was scored when he easily converted a penalty kick.
For Al Kharaitiyat, their only goal came from Sanjar at the
half hour mark.
Coached by Jesualdo Ferreira, Al Sadd dominated the
proceedings though they could not add to their impressive
rally of four goals.
With their win on Friday, Al Sadd remain on course for a
trophy double having won the Qatar Cup last week.
Lekhwiya and Al Rayyan have already qualified for the
semifinals.
The Emir Cup final will be played on May 19.
