DOHA: German giants Bayern Munich and Schalke 04 have wound up their
respective winter training camps in Doha, enjoying 'fine weather and a
couple of friendly games'.
Aspire Zone Foundation (AF) once again hosted the two top Bundesliga
clubs who had joined Real Madrid and PSG during the winter break.
The teams will head back to Germany to resume Bundesliga action on January 24.
Bayern coach Pep Guardiola said: "We have enjoyed our stay here in
Qatar. It was great to come here and get some much-needed practice."
Guardiola, who played for Al Ahli before retirement, added: "We got
great hospitality from the hosts. The facilities were excellent and we
enjoyed our stay."
Schalke's Jefferson Agustin Farfan echoed Guardiola's sentiments.
"I am impressed with the training facilities here. It was great to
come here and train in such fine weather," Farfan said.
