DOHA: The Gulf Football Federation (GFF) headed by President Sheikh
Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani has shown full support for the
candidacy of Saud Abdulaziz Al Mohannadi for a seat on the FIFA
Coumcil.
The decision on three additional members representing Asia at the FIFA
Council will be announced at the AFC Extraordinary Congress to be held
in Goa on Tuesday.
Al Mohannadi brings forward vast experience as a football official
having served a number of key roles over the years.
Meanwhile, AFC President Shaikh Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa arrived
in the Indian state of Goa, where he will chair the AFC Extraordinary
Congress on Tuesday.
Shaikh Salman also stressed the importance of the AFC Extraordinary
Congress where three additional members representing Asia will be
elected to the FIFA Council.
He concluded by wishing all the candidates the very best in their
respective campaigns to win the trust of AFC’s Member Associations.
