Handball World Cup journalists visit Supreme Committee

DOHA: With the 24th Men’s Handball World Championships successfully concluding as hosts Qatar take on Olympic champions France in today’s final, Qatar 2015 media officials and a delegation of 87 international media also visited the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) during the tournament for a progress update ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar™. “We were pleased to be able to work together with the organisers of the 2015 Handball World Cup to arrange for visiting international media to view our plans and progress ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar,” said Nasser Al Khater, SC Executive Director for Communications and Marketing, who led the presentation and answered questions from the visiting media. “The feedback from media from all around the world was very positive and we will continue to engage with leading international media from across key markets as Qatar hosts further world class sporting events such as this Handball World Cup in the coming years.” During the presentation held on the first rest day of the tournament at Al Bidda Tower in Doha, the SC’s plans and progress on five proposed host venues for the 2022 FIFA World Cup™ were displayed, along with an update on cooling technology, transportation plans, and workers’ welfare. The 87 media present from print, radio and television outlets represented various participating nations of the 2015 Handball World Cup including Germany, France, Argentina, Brazil, Austria, Macedonia, Greece and Russia.
