DOHA: Fans can expect to see a high level of football at the on-going
GCC U23 Championship currently being held in Bahrain, top QFA official
Hamad Al Mannai said on Saturday.
Teams from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain are
participating in the event.
"Since all teams are eyeing to win the tournament, fans can expect a
high level of football during the championship," Al Mannai said.
The tournament began on January 16 and ends on January 26.
"The players are keen to impress and seek a breakthrough for their
respective seniors teams. Obviously the matches will be keenly
contested," he added.
"This event is a great opportunity for the teams and the coaches to
showcase their skills. All the participating teams will be keen to
play future games with confidence gained at this event," he said.
The aforementioned sides will be aiming to win a berth at the Rio
Olympic Games in 2016.
