DOHA: Al Matar posted their second successive win in the Qatar Amateur
League while Kahraama beat British Community as exciting games were
witnessed in round two.
The second round of matches were held on October 9.
Al Matar beat Madinat Khalifa 2-1, Amwaj beat Lusail 3-0, Al Quds
edged Al Waab 2-0, UmmAl Afai crushed Al Bida 5-2, Kahrama beat British
Community 4-3, Doha thrashed Latin 3-1 and Makeen edged Al Dhakeera
1-0.
The organizing committee of the Amateur League postponed the game
between Military Command and Madinat Khalifa for a later date.
In the first week of Qatar Amateur League, 28 goals were scored in 7
matches for an average of 4 goals per game. In the second week, the
average of goals per game fell to 2.7.
Plujo of Al Matar is the highest scorer so far with 4 goals where
Mohamed Imad of Al Afai has managed three goals. Ali Habib of Amwaj
also has scored three goals.
Umm Al Afai are at the top of the standings after round two with 6 points.
Al Matar are in second place - also with 6 points - but due to an
inferior goal difference they are below Umm Al Afai.
Makeen are in third place with (6) followed by Amwaj (4) in fourth
spot. Al Waab are in fifth spot with 4 points.
Doha, Kopros, Al Dhakheera, Kahramaa, Al Quds, Madinat Khalifa,
British Community, Al Bida, Latin and Losail occupy the next slots on
the points standings.
