DOHA: Qatar will host Korea Republic in their 2018 FIFA World Cup
qualifying match at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium on Tuesday.
Coached by Jorge Fossati, Qatar last week drew 2-2 against North Korea
in a friendly.
Qatar are looking for their second win of this campaign having beaten
Syria in an earlier qualifier. Qatar will be eager to wind up this
phase with a win in the Ramadan clash.
Korea Republic currently occupy second spot behind Iran in this Asian
Zone qualifying campaign. As for Uli Stielike’s Korea Republic, a win
in Doha should strengthen their hopes of direct qualification to
Russia.
The visitors have Qatar based duo Nam Tae-hee and Han Kook-young in
their squad, while coach Stielike is also familiar with the Gulf
emirate having worked here previously.
On the other side, Qatar’s Uruguayan boss Fossati has recalled left
back Abdelkarim Hassan to the Qatar camp and the Al Sadd player went
on to score in a 2-2 friendly draw with DPR Korea last week.
The home team will be without suspended star striker Sebastian Soria.
However, star forward Rodrigo Tabata is available for selection.
