DOHA: Korean striker Nam Tae-hee on Saturday thanked his team mates
after winning the prestigious QFA Player of the Year award.
Tae-hee said after picking up his award: "First I want to say to
everybody at Lekhwiya. They helped me a lot. I also want to say 'thank
you' to Qatar football fans."
He added: "I try to do my best as always. We have an important game
coming up. Our target is to reach the next round of the AFC Champions
League. I hope we can win the AFC Champions League (title) also."
Tae-hee, 25, struck 14 goals as Lekhwiya went on to win the Qatar
Stars League (QSL) title for the fifth time in the last 7 years.
Lekhwiya coach Djamel Belmadi was present at the gathering along with
the entire Qatar football family at Qatar National Convention Centre
on Saturday.
The proceedings were kick-off by a video slide showing he spectacular
inauguration of the Khalifa International Stadium on Friday night
