DOHA: Former Croatian international Zlatko Kranjcar replaced Milan Macala as Al Ahli’s new coach last week. The decision to replace Macala with Kranjcar came in the wake of Ahli’s string of poor results, including last week’s 2-4 loss to Al Khor.
Kranjcar, 58, signed a two-year deal with the club, who are seventh in the league.
In his past stints, Kranjcar had coached the Montenegro national team (2010-11) as well as UAE’s Al Shaab (’07) and Iran’s Sepahan (2011-14).
